Students in the US protest Israeli minister
At Yale University in the US, students protested the invitation of Israel's far-right Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, as a speaker at the school.
Pro-Palestine supporters gathered at the Yale campus in the US state of Massachusetts to protest the invitation of Israel's far-right minister, Ben-Gvir, to their university.
Hundreds of students, who set up a pro-Palestine support camp with 8 tents on the school campus, said "We are here and we will spend the night here" during their hours-long protests.
In a notice distributed to the activist group, which emphasized in its social media announcements that it had no ties to any organization, the school administration noted that placing tents and similar objects on the school campus without written permission is prohibited.
The activist group left the school campus after the administration stated that students who resisted could be detained if they did not disperse by 11:00 PM.
Last year, 48 activists, 44 of whom were Yale students, were detained during pro-Palestine demonstrations held on the university campus.
