Successive explosion sounds in southern Iran: Source being investigated in Hormozgan

It has been reported that successive explosion sounds were heard in the Hormozgan province in southern Iran, off the coast of Qeshm Island and the cities of Sirik and Minab.

According to Iranian state television, the sounds originated from the sea in regions along the Persian Gulf coast. The Hormozgan Governor's Office also stated that the sounds heard on Qeshm Island were maritime in origin.

In the statement from the Governor's Office, it was noted that the exact source of the explosion sounds has not yet been determined and that investigations into the incident are ongoing. No official statement has been made regarding any casualties or damage in the region.

The development comes after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that two US Navy warships, the USS Delbert D. Black (DDG-119) and the USS John Paul Jones (DDG-53), had been targeted with ballistic missiles. In its statement, the Revolutionary Guard argued that the attack was in retaliation for US attacks on Iranian oil tankers.
