Syria and Israel exchange artillery fire
It was reported that artillery fire was launched from Syria into Israeli territory, and that Israel responded in kind.
In a written statement issued by the Israeli army, it was stated that "a number of artillery shells were detected being fired from Syria toward Israel."
The statement noted that some of the shells reached Israeli territory and landed in open areas.
It was also stated that Israeli forces responded to the sources of the fire from Syrian territory with artillery bombardment and mortar fire.
