Tasnim News Agency makes 'ballistic' missile claim: 'Iran has provided the Houthis in Yemen...'
Iran's semi-official Tasnim News Agency has announced that Tehran has sent the "Ghadr" anti-ship ballistic missile to the Houthis in Yemen.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps'-affiliated Tasnim reported that "Iran's Ghadr anti-ship ballistic missile is now available to fighters in Yemen."
Pointing to the attacks carried out by the Houthis on ships linked to Israel in the Red Sea, the report included the following statements:
"The missile, which once succeeded in keeping the Americans away from Iranian shores, has now turned into a weapon capable of posing a serious challenge to the interests of the US and its main ally in the region, the Zionist regime."
Iran, which supports the Houthis in Yemen, has not confirmed allegations that it has armed the group to date.
There has been no official statement from Iran regarding the matter yet.
