WHAT IS A KATYUSHA ROCKET?
The Katyusha rocket is the name given to the multiple rocket launcher system developed by the Soviet Union during World War II. This weapon system is associated with the BM-13 model rocket launcher and was among the effective weapons that changed the course of the war. Katyusha rockets are known for their rapid firing capacity and the devastating effects they create over large areas.
The weapons used by the USSR during World War II take their name from the popular Soviet song 'Katyusha' of that era.
