Counter-terrorism operations continue in Syria. A terrorist cell preparing to assassinate high-level figures was dismantled in a joint counter-terrorism operation conducted by the Syrian Ministry of Interior and the General Intelligence Directorate in the capital Damascus, as well as the cities of Aleppo, Homs, Tartus, and Latakia.
At least 11 people were detained as part of the operation.
It was stated that the members of the terrorist organization had received training in Lebanon and infiltrated Syrian territory, and were preparing for actions involving systematic assassinations targeting high-level government officials.
