What will be the fate of Israel's neighbor Jordan? The country in the middle of a 'ring of fire'

Israel, which has been bombing Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria, has increased security concerns in the region. Israel, which was most recently struck by a ballistic missile attack from Iran and is planning to strike its 'enemy's' nuclear facilities, is also causing security concerns in its neighbor, Jordan. 

Jordan is located right in the middle of the war zones in the Middle East, which is described as a 'ring of fire.' In particular, Jordanian airspace is being subjected to violations by countries in the region that are in conflict with one another. For example, the US and Israeli militaries intercepted the majority of the missiles and drones launched by Iran toward Israel within Jordanian airspace.

The Jordanian Ministry of Defense has made various statements in recent weeks regarding the threats posed by Israel against them. 

Experts emphasize that the escalation of conflicts could be dangerous for Jordan. 

Isa Shalabi from Al-Hussein Bin Talal University evaluated Jordan's situation in an interview with AA. Shalabi stated that the current situation could have a greater impact than the 2006 war. 

Shalabi pointed out that these conflicts could trigger waves of migration. Recalling the migration movements that occurred in previous wars, Shalabi expressed that the spread of armed conflicts in the region this time could pose a greater threat.

WILL JORDAN FACE A NEW WAVE OF MIGRATION?

Due to its geographical location, Jordan could become a potential battlefield. The spread of war, along with the use of unmanned aerial vehicles and missiles, could increase security threats.

Shalabi said, 'Jordan's situation could become even more complex depending on the balance of power in the region.'

Emphasizing that the war could lead to the spread of conflict in the Middle East, which would mean that Hezbollah supporters from Iraq, Iran, Syria, Lebanon, and Palestine could enter the country across the Jordanian border, Shalabi noted the following:

'This situation will lead all parties to use all the weapons they possess, such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and missiles. Jordan's central geographical location poses a serious danger. This means that the country's skies will become a conflict zone. This will impose political, security, military, and social burdens and hardships on the country for no reason.'

Although the government in Jordan follows a policy of not getting involved in Israel's wars, large groups are organizing rallies in support of Palestine

HOW WILL THE EVENTS IN LEBANON AFFECT THE FUTURE OF THE REGION?

On the other hand, Jordanian writer Rawan Suleiman al-Hayyari pointed out that such a conflict would create serious effects throughout the entire Middle East. 

Stating that what is happening in Lebanon could reshape the foreign policies of countries in the region, Hayyari expressed the following: 

'The struggle for existence and influence in the region is heading toward military escalation. Israel, which has a clear project in the region, is trying to break Hezbollah's influence on its borders with its military power, and in doing so, it is sending messages to Tehran.'

Experts predict that the current conflicts will have not only political but also economic repercussions. 

The Amman administration has underscored in its statements so far that it is trying to pursue a balanced foreign policy to mitigate the effects of potential regional conflicts.
