The King's brother Andrew is losing his final title: His rank is being stripped
Prince Andrew, who had all his Royal titles and ranks revoked due to the Epstein allegations, is now losing his final rank of "Honorary Vice Admiral." The UK Defense Secretary announced that this step will be taken as a result of work led by King Charles.
Recent developments within the British Royal Family indicate that another step is being taken to strip Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor of all his military and Royal titles. Andrew, who is known for pedophilia allegations and was accused of sexual abuse by the late American billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, was only holding onto the rank of "Honorary Vice Admiral." However, it has been announced that this title will also be revoked.
STATEMENT FROM THE UK DEFENSE SECRETARY
UK Defense Secretary John Healey announced that work is underway to revoke Prince Andrew's "Honorary Vice Admiral" title. In a statement to Sky News, Healey said, "We have seen Andrew return all his military ranks. Now, work is being carried out regarding the last rank he holds, which is Honorary Vice Admiral." It was noted that this process is being led by King Charles and that the outcome will be the revocation of the rank.
THE LEASED MANSION MAY ALSO BE TAKEN AWAY
Prince Andrew was also residing in the Royal Lodge mansion located at Windsor Castle. However, in light of these developments, claims have emerged that this mansion could also be taken away from him.
KING CHARLES ALSO REVOKED THE "PRINCE" TITLE
Andrew's position within the Royal Family had already been shaken in 2019 due to the Epstein allegations. At that time, Andrew announced that he was stepping back from all official Royal duties. Last month, sexual abuse allegations in a book written by Virginia Giuffre occupied both the Royal Family and King Charles once again. Following these developments, King Charles also revoked his brother Andrew's "Prince" title. King Charles announced that Andrew will continue his life as "Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor" from now on.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO REMOVE HIM FROM THE LINE OF SUCCESSION?
UK Defense Secretary Healey also spoke on a question regarding whether Andrew would be removed from the line of succession. Healey stated, "This is a decision for the King. My personal view is that, given Andrew has lost all his other Royal titles, this is no longer very likely."
Prince Andrew is accused of sexual abuse by Virginia Giuffre, one of Epstein's victims. However, Andrew has always denied the allegations and maintained that no wrongdoing was found regarding the case. In 2019, he announced that he was stepping back from all official Royal duties and has not undertaken any public role since that day.
