The US is talking about this incident: A woman in Ohio killed a cat and then ate it raw

27-year-old Allexis Telia Ferrell, who lives in the US state of Ohio, chewed and tore apart a cat's head in front of her neighbors. 

The woman, who is alleged to have eaten the cat she killed, is being tried on charges of animal cruelty and disorderly conduct according to court records. 

The bail for the woman, who appeared at her first hearing, was set at 100 thousand dollars. 

While it is known that the consumption of cat and dog meat is not well-received in the US, former US presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. became the target of harsh criticism in the country in July after a photo emerged that allegedly showed him eating barbecued dog. Kennedy denied the allegations, stating that the animal he was holding was a goat. 

In late 2023, the Gia Bảo restaurant in Vietnam, which served "special cat meat" and "cat soup," was shut down. The slaughterhouse was drowning 300 cats to death every month and serving them to people in the Southeast Asian country, where eating cat is relatively common. 

The business owner had stated that he did not want to kill the cats, but that he did it to make a living.
