Nature magazine has published its annual 'World's Best Research Institutions' list. In the published list, Chinese universities have established a significant lead over US universities. Turkish universities, on the other hand, remained quite far behind in the rankings. Nature's list covers universities and official organizations that publish academic articles. For example, the World Health Organization, which is not an educational institution, is included in the list because it publishes academic articles. Seven Chinese universities are in the top ten of Nature's list. On the other hand, only one US university managed to enter the top ten. Turkish universities remained quite far behind in the list. Bilkent University was the institution from Turkey that entered the list with the highest ranking. Bilkent ranked 886th among all institutions and 728th among universities.
