The world's largest election has concluded!
The 7-phase general elections that began in India on April 19 have ended, and exit polls have been released.
In India, the polls have closed for the 7th and final phase of the general elections to determine the members of the House of the People (Lok Sabha), the lower house of parliament.
With this, the general elections, which lasted 6 weeks and were described as one of the most important in the country's history, have come to an end, with results expected to be announced on June 4.
EXIT POLLS
Exit polls conducted across India indicate that the "National Democratic Alliance (NDA)", led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is largely leading the race against the opposition.
According to the polls, the BJP and its allies are expected to win 350 of the 543 seats in the House of the People, qualifying them to form the government.
THE WORLD'S LARGEST ELECTION
Within the scope of the elections that began in India on April 19 and ended today, approximately 968 million voters cast their ballots to determine the members of the House of the People.
Prime Minister Modi, who emerged victorious from the last elections, competed against a broad coalition where many opposition parties gathered under the name "Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA)", alongside the "National Democratic Alliance (NDA)" led by his party, the BJP.
Voters cast their ballots on April 19 and 26, as well as May 7, 13, 20, 25, and June 1, within the framework of the 7-phase general elections covering 28 states and 8 special administrative regions known as "Union Territories" in the country.
