East Asian countries Japan and South Korea entered the new year with fireworks displays held in their capitals. The fireworks shows organized in Tokyo and Seoul featured colorful scenes.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government did not hold its annual bell-ringing ceremony for this year's New Year's celebration due to the plane crash that occurred on December 29. In the incident, which went down in history as the country's deadliest plane crash, 179 people, including 4 crew members, lost their lives, while 2 cabin crew members were rescued with injuries.
New Zealand also said 'Hello' to 2025. The country welcomed the new year with a fireworks display at 14:00 Turkish time. Thousands of people gathered in the city of Auckland entered the new year with enthusiasm during the show held at the Sky Tower.
