They were preparing an attack: Anti-terror operation in Denmark and the Netherlands with links to Germany

In a statement issued following simultaneous operations by the Danish police and the intelligence service PET, it was reported that the arrested individuals were linked to radical Islamist groups and were preparing a terrorist attack. Among those detained are citizens of Denmark and the Netherlands.

It was announced that the 57-year-old male suspect arrested in the operation in Rotterdam, Netherlands, was taken into custody at the request of German authorities as part of an investigation conducted by the German Federal Public Prosecutor's Office.

The Federal Public Prosecutor's Office in Karlsruhe stated that this situation is linked to the three arrests made in Berlin. 

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said, "For many years, we have observed that there are people living in Denmark who are against us, our democracy, our freedom, and Danish society," and stated that these raids show the serious extent of the terror threat in Denmark. The Danish intelligence service PET declared the terror threat level in the country as "critical." This rating corresponds to the fourth level on a five-stage scale.
