Those fleeing Lebanon arrive in Turkey by sea: Mersin becomes the escape route from war

The Taşucu Port in the Silifke district of Mersin has become an escape route for people stranded in the war between Lebanon and Israel. 315 foreign nationals in Lebanon managed to flee the country by traveling from the Port of Tripoli to the Taşucu Port. To date, a total of 677 passengers have reached Taşucu from Lebanon.

With the start of the Israeli ground operation against Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon, which had been expected for days, evacuations from Lebanon have also accelerated.

THOSE LIVING IN LEBANON ARE UNEASY DUE TO ISRAELI ATTACKS

While the Israeli army has issued evacuation calls to civilians living in the south of Beirut on the grounds that it will carry out attacks on Hezbollah targets, this situation continues to cause unease among foreign nationals living in Lebanon.

As many countries have warned their citizens to leave Lebanon, and with flights suspended in the country, foreign nationals have arrived at the Taşucu Port by sea.

The ship, which departed from Lebanon's Port of Tripoli, reached Turkey with 315 passengers consisting of citizens from various countries.

The foreign nationals, whose procedures were completed at the port, left the district with their families in minibuses. It was learned that the foreign nationals would travel to their home countries from airports in various provinces of Turkey.
