According to a report by the Swedish-based SVT, Thai Defense Minister Phumtham Wechayachai announced that debris removal efforts in Bangkok are ongoing. It was stated that office buildings and shopping malls in the city center have been evacuated.

The Chinese news agency Xinhua stated that residents in China's Yunnan province, where the earthquake was also felt, headed to open areas. The report noted that no loss of life has been reported in China so far.

Bangkok Airport officials announced that flight operations are continuing as normal. Meanwhile, it was stated that the metro and other public transport systems in the city were temporarily halted for inspection purposes.
