Threatening remarks from Netanyahu hours before Gaza ceasefire!
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed that the Gaza ceasefire is "temporary" and that if an agreement for the second phase cannot be reached, US President-elect Donald Trump has granted Israel the "right to resume" attacks.
Netanyahu made a statement regarding the ceasefire and hostage exchange agreement in Gaza, which is set to take effect today starting at 08:30 local time.
Netanyahu claimed that he had received guarantees from US President Joe Biden and US President-elect Trump regarding the resumption of the war.
Using the phrase, "If we are forced to return to war, we will do so in new ways and with great force," Netanyahu added, "I appreciate President Trump's decision to lift all restrictions on the supply of weapons to the State of Israel."
Referring to Israel's attacks on Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, and Iran, Netanyahu claimed that they are changing the balance of power in the Middle East.
"WE WILL MAINTAIN OUR PRESENCE IN THE PHILADELPHI CORRIDOR AND THE BUFFER ZONE"
Stating that they are making efforts for the release of hostages, Netanyahu claimed that they succeeded in doubling the number of Israeli hostages to be released under the agreement.
Claiming that according to the agreement text, Israel will remain in the Philadelphi Corridor, from which it was supposed to withdraw completely on the 50th day, Netanyahu stated, "Israel will not reduce its forces here; on the contrary, it will increase them. We will maintain our presence in the Philadelphi Corridor and the buffer zone."
Announcing that the Israeli army will increase the number of soldiers in the West Bank, Netanyahu admitted that the cost of the war, in which Israel is attacking multiple regions simultaneously, is quite high.
Claiming that all Israelis support the war, Netanyahu used the expression, "I would like to say that the war is not over yet."
