A total of 41 journalists killed in Israel-Palestine war

Since the Israel-Palestine war began on October 7, a total of 41 journalists have been killed. Of these, 36 are Palestinian journalists killed in Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip.

Reporters Without Borders (RSF) is calling for the protection of those who are still there.

Just one month after Hamas's shocking attack and the subsequent armed response, the toll is horrifying. In 36 days of war, at least 31 journalists have been killed in Israeli attacks in Gaza.

10 JOURNALISTS KILLED WHILE REPORTING

Israeli authorities have repeatedly stated that their armed forces "do not target journalists," but they have also not hidden their indifference toward protecting them. According to information gathered by RSF so far, 10 of the 36 journalists killed in the Gaza Strip were clearly killed while reporting.

''THE NUMBER OF KILLED JOURNALISTS IS INCREASING EVERY DAY''

Jonathan Dagher, Head of RSF's Middle East Desk, stated in a press release: "What is happening in the Gaza Strip is a tragedy for journalism, with more than one reporter killed every day since October 7. In addition to thousands of civilians, the number of media workers killed is increasing every day. While the Israeli armed forces are eliminating journalists one after another without restriction through arbitrary airstrikes, their unacceptable comments reveal a clear disregard for international humanitarian law. The situation is urgent. We call for the protection of journalists in the Gaza Strip and for foreign journalists to be allowed to enter the region to work freely.''
