Tragic accident at Milan Bergamo Airport: Man dies after being pulled into engine on runway

According to information obtained, a 35-year-old man, whose identity has not been disclosed, gained unauthorized access to the runway through a security gate at the airport this morning.
Authorities reported that the individual was not among the regular passengers at the airport and had no connection to Volotea Airlines. The incident occurred at 10:20, and it was learned that the individual ran toward the parking area of an Airbus A319 aircraft preparing to depart for Asturias, Spain, and lost his life after being pulled into the engine.
According to reports in the Italian press and witness statements, police were pursuing the individual on the runway before the accident but were unable to stop him. Immediately following the incident, major disruptions occurred in flight operations at the airport.
FLIGHTS TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED
Following the tragic accident, all takeoffs and landings at Milan Bergamo Airport were suspended until further notice. Authorities announced that numerous flights between 10:20 and 12:00 were canceled or diverted to other airports. Delays were inevitable for some flights.
In a statement issued by Volotea Airlines, it was noted that "the person who lost his life is not our passenger and has no connection to our company," while local media gave extensive coverage to the event.
