In the Kuybyshev city of Russia's Ulyanovsk region, a passenger train traveling from Adler to Perm collided head-on with another train. It was announced that there were 400 passengers on the passenger train and that 25 passengers were injured in the accident.

Russian Deputy Minister of Health Aleksey Kuznetsov stated that 5 passengers were treated at the scene of the accident and that the passengers receiving treatment in hospitals are not in life-threatening condition.

"WAGONS DID NOT DERAIL"

In a statement made by Russian Railways, it was stated that passengers were evacuated from the train following the accident, the wagons did not derail during the incident, and no damage occurred to the railway line.

The statement, which noted that the trains involved in the accident were towed to the nearest stations, indicated that the accident was caused by an error on the part of station officials.
