A group of members from the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) held an anti-war protest on the railway tracks in the city of Alexandroupoli.
The protesters chanted slogans such as, "Alexandroupoli is not a fortress for imperialists, it is a port for the people."
The activists, who set up a barricade on the tracks, stopped the train carrying US and NATO tanks.
During the protest, where Palestinian flags were also carried, one demonstrator wrote "Murderers, go home" on a tank located on the train.
Alexandroupoli, located near the borders of Turkey and Bulgaria, had become an alternative route for the shipment of NATO military equipment to Eastern Europe via Romania and Bulgaria following the war in Ukraine.
