Tropical Storm Trami in the Philippines: Millions displaced
As a result of the rainfall, flooding, and landslides caused by Tropical Storm Trami in the northeastern Philippines, 85 people have died and 5.7 million have been displaced.
According to the Manila Times as reported by AA, the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) announced that 85 people have died as a result of the natural disaster.
According to the OCD, the number of dead and injured may rise further.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) announced that 5.7 million people have been displaced due to the storm and that approximately 92 thousand families have taken shelter in evacuation centers.
Reporting that more than 27 thousand homes have been damaged, the NDRRMC also stated that 520 roads and 84 bridges have been affected by the flooding.
Authorities believe that agricultural lands and infrastructure have also sustained serious damage due to the storm.
