It has been revealed that senior U.S. officials formed a group on the messaging app Signal to communicate before ordering an attack on Yemen. The high-level bureaucrats, who accidentally added Goldberg to the group, exchanged views regarding the Yemen strike.

In the messages, Vance was seen saying, 'I hate saving Europe again.' Hegseth reportedly replied to Vance's message, saying, 'I completely agree with you.' It was noted that in the messages, an individual identified as S.M. wrote that Europe should pay an economic price to the U.S. in return for actions taken in Yemen. In the screenshots shared by Goldberg, it was stated that Hegseth replied 'Agreed' to this message as well.

According to The Atlantic's report, Many high-level officials, including Goldberg, JD Vance, and Rubio, were added to the wrong group, which contained information regarding operational plans against the Houthis in Yemen.

White House National Security Council Spokesperson Brian Hughes, confirmed the authenticity of the message thread. Stating, 'We are investigating how the wrong number was added,' Hughes claimed that operational security was not compromised.

Following the confirmation of The Atlantic's report, Democrats criticized the administration, highlighting that a security breach had occurred. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, described the situation as 'one of the most astonishing intelligence breaches in recent years.' Schumer called on Republicans to launch a comprehensive investigation into the matter.

House Intelligence Committee member Jim Himes, stated, 'These actions are a clear violation of national security laws.' Senator Mark Warner also shared a message on social media stating, 'This situation leaves all Americans less safe.'

Delaware Senator Chris Coons, stated in a social media post, 'All officials in this message thread have committed a crime.' New York Representative Pat Ryan described the incident as 'too serious to be ignored.'
