Trump admits: US economy could enter recession
In addition to Canada and Mexico, Trump, who has imposed additional customs duties on China and Brazil, also threatened the European Union (EU) with sanctions. Following Trump's initiation of a 'trade war,' mixed trends were observed in US stock markets, cryptocurrency markets, and US Federal Reserve (FED) benchmark data. Economists commented that the US economy is being dragged into 'chaos' due to the new president. Trump did not rule out the possibility that tariffs could lead to a recession in the US economy.
US President Donald Trump did not rule out the possibility that the customs tariffs applied to Canada and Mexico could lead to a recession or an increase in inflation in the country's economy. Rejecting experts' comments that 'uncertainty prevails' in the US economy, Trump stated that 'a transition period is being experienced.'
Trump acknowledged that tariffs could increase inflation, but stated that falling interest rates could balance this effect. Regarding the suspension of tariffs on Mexico and Canada until April, Trump stated that he 'wanted to help American automakers.' Emphasizing that 'everything will be reciprocal' after April 2, Trump said, 'Whatever they take from us, we will take the same amount from them.'
When asked whether the tariffs would create a risk of recession, Trump gave the following response:
''I don't like making those kinds of predictions. We are currently going through a transition period because what we are doing is very big. We are bringing wealth back to America.''
Speaking to Fox News, Trump criticized the Democrats for reacting with written protests during a speech he gave in Congress. Using the phrase, 'They have a problem. They were talking about men playing in women's sports,' Trump stated that 'Republicans were going crazy' and that 'Democrats were holding up their little signs.' Trump described the event as an 'incredible situation.'

Sharp declines have been observed in US stock markets since Trump took office. In the first week of Trump's presidency, the rise of the Chinese artificial intelligence company DeepSeek caused the NASDAQ 100 Index in the US to fall by 4.5 points.
'LIKE TAKING CANDY FROM A BABY...'
Touching on the relations between Ukraine and the US, Trump said that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was 'taking weapons from the US like taking candy from a baby.' Trump stated that Zelenskyy was not grateful and that Ukraine might struggle to survive against Russia.
Trump claimed that no one had acted as tough toward Russia as he had. Reminding that he stopped the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, Trump stated that he had established good relationships with Russian President Vladimir Putin, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

CORRUPTION ACCUSATION AGAINST JOE BIDEN
Trump alleged that his senior advisor Elon Musk had uncovered hundreds of billions of dollars in 'fake contracts.' Claiming that too much money was spent on 'trans mouse surgeries' during the era of former President Joe Biden, Trump stated that this situation was revealed through agreements. Trump said he would not touch health programs like Medicaid and Medicare, but would put an end to the corruption within these programs.
Reiterating that he 'wanted to take' the Panama Canal, Trump argued that the canal was given to Panama for no reason and should be taken back, saying, ''Most of the signs at the Panama Canal were written in Chinese. They took them down when they realized I was serious.''
Touching on the gold card application for foreigners, Trump said, 'The gold card will be better than the green card. Firms like Apple will be able to employ foreigners who have graduated from leading universities.'
