U.S. President Donald Trump held a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

In a statement following the call, Trump said, "I had a very productive conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. No troops will be sent to Beirut, and the troops that were on their way have already been turned back."

Stating that he also had a very good conversation with Hezbollah through high-level representatives, Trump added, "They also agreed to stop all hostilities. Israel will not attack them, and they will not attack Israel."
