Trump announces: Iran has downed a US helicopter
US President Donald Trump has made a statement regarding a military helicopter incident over the Strait of Hormuz. Trump claimed that an advanced Apache helicopter belonging to the American military was downed by the Iranians.
Stating that the two pilots on board the helicopter are safe, Trump said, "The US must absolutely respond to this attack."
In his statement, Trump said, "According to information I just received from our military, last night the Iranians downed one of our highly advanced Apache helicopters while it was patrolling over the Strait of Hormuz."
Noting that there were two pilots on board the helicopter, Trump also provided information regarding the health status of the pilots. The US President announced that both pilots are safe and were not injured in the incident.
In the remainder of his statement, Trump gave a stern message to Iran, saying, "The United States must absolutely respond to this attack."
