Trump announces 'new unit' he will establish
U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has announced that he will create a new unit tasked with collecting all revenue from tariffs, duties, and foreign sources.
Trump shared the information regarding the matter on his Truth Social social media account.
Stating that they have been taxing the public through the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for a very long time, Trump said, "While we tax ourselves, the American economy has offered growth and prosperity to the world through soft and pitifully weak trade deals. It is time for this to change.
Today, I am announcing that I will establish the Foreign Revenue Service to collect our tariffs, duties, and all revenue coming from foreign sources."
Stating that they will begin charging those who make money from the U.S. through trade, Trump remarked, "They will finally start paying their fair share."
Trump noted that January 20, the day he will take office, will be the "birthday" of the "Foreign Revenue Service."
