Trump announces: White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt to step down at the end of the month

US President Donald Trump announced that White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt will step down from her position at the end of the month. Trump stated that the decision stems from Leavitt's desire to spend more time with her family.

In a statement on his social media account, Trump expressed that he understands Leavitt's decision, saying, "Karoline will be leaving her position at the end of the month to spend more time with her wonderful young children and family. This is a decision I fully understand and respect."

Noting that although Leavitt will be leaving her official role at the White House, she will maintain her relationship with the administration, Trump stated that she will continue to serve as one of his senior outside advisors.

Trump also noted that Leavitt will continue to be an influential figure within the Republican Party and will work toward the party's goals in the upcoming midterm elections.

Praising Leavitt's performance since 2018 and during the 2024 election campaign, Trump remarked, "Karoline has been a true leader at the White House. She fought an extraordinary battle for justice, freedom, and liberty, including during our historic 2024 reelection campaign. She was one of the best White House press secretaries in the history of the office."
