Trump bans sales of Canada's Bombardier: US-Canada tensions grow
US President Donald Trump has announced that products from Canadian aircraft manufacturer Bombardier will not be sold in the US market.
US President Donald Trump has announced a striking decision regarding Canadian aircraft manufacturer Bombardier. In a statement on his social media account, Trump declared that Bombardier products will no longer be sold in the US.
Trump claimed that Bombardier generates more than 50 percent of its revenue from the US and targeted the company's products. In his statement, he used the phrase, "Bombardier products will no longer be sold in the US."
Accusing Canada of obstructing the operations of American companies in the country, Trump argued that Bombardier generates revenue from "American buyers, companies, and airports." Trump also alleged that Canada is preventing the US-based company Gulfstream Aerospace from doing business in the country.
"THEY MUST STOP SEEING AMERICA AS A PIGGY BANK"
Describing the situation as "completely unfair and unjust," Trump referred to his "America First" approach. Trump stated, "If they want to enter our market, they must invest here and stop seeing America as a piggy bank."
In his statement, Trump also included the phrases, "Buy American products. Fly with American airlines. Drink American beverages." The decision is being interpreted as a sign that the economic tension between Washington and Ottawa is now spilling over into the aviation sector.
