Trump: Ceasefire is still in effect

US President Donald Trump made statements regarding current developments in the Iran conflict during a brief phone interview with ABC News. Addressing Iran's attacks on commercial vessels and American warships in the Strait of Hormuz, Trump said, "There was no heavy fire."

When asked whether the ceasefire had been violated, Trump said, "We will give you a statement. The ships are moving. Last night, a lot of ships, big ships, were moving and there was no fire. I think there was a little bit recently. I am looking into it."

Trump said that Iran should hope the ceasefire remains in effect. Trump stated, "The best thing that could happen for them is for us to keep the ceasefire in effect."

Regarding the conflict in the Strait of Hormuz, Trump said, "We just heard about it and we will look into it. What should happen is that South Korea should get involved. It was a South Korean ship that was hit. I think if you have a ship that is hit, you should send someone immediately."

When asked about the attacks on the United Arab Emirates, Trump said that the missiles and drones targeting the country were "largely shot down." Trump added, "One got through. There is no major damage."

When asked what these developments mean for the possibility of the war ending, Trump replied, "We have the situation under control. We will win one way or another."
