Trump: Democrats should be prosecuted

US President Donald Trump made statements regarding intelligence reports on the strikes against Iranian facilities during the Iran-Israel conflict in an interview with the US-based television channel Fox News.

Holding journalists and Democrats responsible for the leak of the US Defense Intelligence Agency report, Trump stated that those responsible for the leak should be prosecuted.

"National security is at stake. You have to find the source. I think we will do things like that too," Trump said, reiterating his social media post: "It was the Democrats who leaked the information about the perfect flight to the nuclear facilities in Iran. They should be prosecuted."

BLAMED JOURNALISTS

During the interview, Trump emphasized that journalists' sources could be subpoenaed. "They could find out if they wanted to. You can go to the reporter and say, 'Who gave you this?' You have to do that," Trump said, continuing his accusations against the media.

TALKS WITH CANADA HALTED

Touching on the issue of trade with Canada during the program, Trump announced that negotiations between the two countries have been halted until certain tariffs are lowered, stating, "We will not move forward until the tariffs are lowered."

"THIS IS A DISGUSTING WORLD"

During the interview, Trump also included accusations against China. Regarding topics such as the rare earth minerals agreement with the Chinese Communist Party, Covid-19, the supply of fentanyl from China to the U.S., and intellectual property violations, the U.S. President said, "It's a disgusting world, but that's how the world works."

Defending the trade agreements made with China, Trump used the expression, "We made a lot of money with this deal."

"REPORTS HAVE LOW RELIABILITY"

While the White House accused U.S. media outlets that published the intelligence report in question of "spreading fake news to weaken the president," Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine had argued that the Defense Intelligence Agency report in question had "low reliability."

An Israeli official, in a press statement, argued that the U.S. airstrike had caused "significant damage" to Iran's nuclear program, while stating that the Defense Intelligence Agency's damage assessment was "premature and incomplete," adding, "A professional battle damage assessment takes time."
