Trump determined on nuclear weapons testing: We will conduct some tests
US President Donald Trump clearly denied allegations of a ground invasion of Venezuela, while stating regarding nuclear weapons testing, "You will find out very soon. We will conduct some tests."
US President Donald Trump spoke to reporters aboard the presidential aircraft, Air Force One. When asked by reporters on the plane whether he was considering a ground invasion of Venezuela, Trump gave a short response, saying, "No." The US President emphasized that the allegations in question did not reflect the truth and did not provide any further explanation on the matter.
"WE WILL CONDUCT SOME NUCLEAR TESTS"
US President Trump was also asked about his social media post from last week regarding nuclear tests. Reminding that the US has not conducted an underground nuclear explosion since 1992, Trump responded to a reporter who asked whether the US had decided to resume these tests. Trump stated, "You will find out very soon."
Trump said, "We will conduct some tests. Other countries are doing it. If they are going to do it, we will too." However, Trump refrained from giving details regarding the scope or location of the tests. By saying, "I know exactly what we are doing and where we are doing it, but I won't say anything yet," Trump signaled that a new chapter could be opened in US nuclear strategy.
"WE EARNED THREE TRILLION DOLLARS"
Touching upon the economic gains of his foreign trips in recent weeks, Trump said, "We earned about 3 trillion dollars from the trips we took in the last few days. It was incredible."
Describing the trade deal made with China as "great," Trump said, "I got along very well with Chinese President Xi Jinping. We actually made a profit of over three trillion dollars. The farmers are very happy; numbers are coming from China that they have never seen before."
Trump also recalled that he had pressured China regarding fentanyl production and touched upon the decision to reduce customs duties following the dialogue he conducted with President Xi. Trump said, "China is working very hard on this, I truly believe that. I would like to remove the extra 10 percent penalty. We had a great conversation with President Xi on this matter."
"OUR COUNTRY IS RESPECTED AGAIN"
In his assessment of his Asia tour, US President Trump stated that the meetings held with Japan and South Korea also went "incredibly." Saying, "Our country is respected again. When they show me this much respect, they are showing that much respect to our country," Trump argued that the prestige of the US has strengthened again in the international arena. Trump said, "We will have a long-term, great relationship with China, Japan, South Korea, and other countries."
Trump also answered a question regarding Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban's request for an exemption from sanctions on Russian oil. The US President stated, "He requested an exemption. He requested an exemption that we did not grant, but he achieved victory. He is my friend."
