Leavitt announced that after noticing "mild swelling in his lower legs," Trump underwent an examination and was diagnosed with "chronic venous insufficiency," a blood circulation issue.
Stating that Trump requested the note from his doctor be shared with the public in the interest of transparency, Leavitt relayed that the note contained the following: "Over the past few weeks, President Trump noticed mild swelling in his lower legs, consistent with his routine medical care, and this was thoroughly evaluated by the White House medical unit.
The President underwent a comprehensive examination and was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency. It is a condition frequently seen, especially in individuals over the age of 70."
Leavitt also noted that an echocardiogram was performed on Trump, stating that his heart structure and functions are normal, and that no signs of heart failure, kidney failure, or systemic disease were detected.
Leavitt emphasized that the health status of 79-year-old Trump is excellent.
