Trump: Israel and Lebanon have reached an agreement on a 10-day ceasefire

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that a 10-day ceasefire has been declared between Lebanon and Israel. In a statement on his social media account, Trump said, "I have had wonderful conversations with the honorable Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Both leaders have reached an agreement on a 10-day ceasefire that will take effect today at 5:00 PM (00:00 TSI) to ensure peace between their countries."

Trump announced that he has instructed U.S. Vice President James David Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caine to work toward achieving a lasting peace between Lebanon and Israel. Trump said, "I have been honored to end 9 wars around the world, and this will be the 10th."

Trump also stated, "I will invite Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Aoun to the White House for the first meaningful talks between Israel and Lebanon since 1983. Both sides want to see peace, and I believe it will happen very quickly."
