Trump makes statement on 'Venezuela visit'

U.S. President Donald Trump evaluated relations between Venezuela and the U.S. in a statement to reporters at the White House. Stating that relations between Venezuela and the U.S. are "very good," Trump said, "I will be making a visit to Venezuela."

Providing no details regarding a potential visit to Venezuela, Trump noted that interim Venezuelan President Delcy Rodriguez also reported that relations with the U.S. are quite good, emphasizing that the two countries are working together, particularly in the oil sector. Trump said, "I rate our current relations with Venezuela as 10 out of 10."

When asked by reporters whether they would recognize Rodriguez's government as the legitimate government, he replied, "Yes, we have done that. We are getting along with them right now and they have done a really good job." However, the White House has not yet made a clear statement regarding whether there has been an official change in U.S. policy concerning the recognition of the Rodriguez government.
