Trump: New 'Discombobulator' weapon used in Venezuela attack

U.S. President Donald Trump made a new statement regarding the airstrikes carried out against Venezuela on January 3 and the operation in which Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores were captured and taken out of the country. In his remarks to the press in the Oval Office, Trump said that a new weapon called the "Discombobulator" was used during the operation.

Trump claimed that the weapon in question prevented the equipment of Venezuelan security forces from functioning during the attacks in the capital, Caracas, stating, "They couldn't fire any of their rockets. They had Chinese and Russian-made rockets, they couldn't fire any of them. We came in, they pushed some buttons, but nothing worked. They were prepared for us."

In his statement confirming the use of the weapon during the operation, Trump noted that he could not provide any details about it, saying, "I would love to, but I am not allowed to talk about this weapon."

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt had previously claimed in a social media post that there were field reports indicating that Venezuelan soldiers on duty during the attacks experienced nosebleeds and vomited blood. It was also alleged that another security official had stated that "inexplicably, all radar systems suddenly shut down."
