US President Donald Trump has promised Russia and Ukraine 'great trade' if they reach an agreement this week.
US President Donald Trump shared a post on the Truth Social platform regarding the potential for an agreement between Russia and Ukraine, which are currently observing a temporary ceasefire for Easter.
In his post, Trump stated, "I hope Russia and Ukraine make a deal this week. Both will then start doing great trade with the US and make a fortune."
Offering Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy a choice between fighting or engaging in trade that would yield a fortune, Donald Trump had signaled in a statement on April 18 that he might abandon ceasefire negotiations "if one of the parties makes this difficult."
Putin had announced that they decided to declare a ceasefire in Ukraine for Easter from 18:00 on April 19 to 00:00 on April 21, while Zelenskyy, in his own statement, accused Russia of repeatedly violating the ceasefire.
