Trump says 'Iran wants to make a deal'

As protests that began in Iran for economic reasons and turned into anti-regime demonstrations continue, US President Donald Trump is drawing attention with his statements.

Trump had previously stated, "If they start executing protesters in Iran, we will take very harsh measures."

Stating that they are closely monitoring developments in Iran, Trump made a new statement to the American news site Axios regarding the matter.

"MY SITUATION IS UNCERTAIN, TEHRAN WANTS TO MAKE A DEAL"

Stating that a massive fleet is waiting off the coast of Iran, Trump emphasized that Iran wants to make a deal:

My situation with Iran is uncertain. We have a massive fleet near Iran. Tehran wants to make a deal.

Meanwhile, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier has been deployed to the Middle East.

In a post featuring photos of the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) on CENTCOM's social media account, it was stated that "Sailors assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) perform routine maintenance while underway in the Indian Ocean on January 26."

The post stated that the aircraft carrier was deployed to the Middle East 'to support regional security and stability.'

"WE ARE WATCHING VERY CLOSELY"

The U.S. Embassy in Baghdad also stated, "As President Trump said, 'We are watching Iran very closely.' And President Trump is a President of action."
