Trump signals embargo following Spain's 'base' decision

US President Trump answered questions from members of the press regarding the Iran agenda during his meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in the Oval Office.

When asked whether reports that Israel had dragged the US into a war with Iran were true, Trump replied "no."

The US President stated, "Actually, I might have pushed them (Israel). My view was that they (Iran) were going to make the first strike. If we didn't attack, they would have attacked; they were going to make the first strike. I was very sure about that."

Expressing his certainty that Iran would have made the first strike, Trump noted that they attacked first to prevent that from happening.

Trump assessed, "If I did anything, I might have pushed Israel, but Israel was already ready. We were ready too. We created a very powerful impact because almost everything they had was destroyed."

Explaining that they struck Iran very severely, Trump claimed that Tehran's air defense systems, navy, and many other weapons systems were destroyed.

HARSH REACTION TO SPAIN FOR NOT ALLOWING USE OF BASES

On the other hand, Trump reacted harshly to Spain for not allowing the US to use its bases, sending a message that they could cut off trade and economic relations with the country.

The US President stated, "Spain said we couldn't use their bases, that's not right. We can use their bases if we want to. No one can tell us not to use the bases."

Trump said, "Spain is in terrible shape right now. Actually, I told (Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent) Scott to cut off all trade relations with Spain."

Explaining that European countries should provide more support to the US and Israel during the Iran process, Trump also lashed out at the UK as well as Spain on this issue.

"THE UK IS ALSO QUITE FAR FROM COOPERATION"

Regarding the process of leasing the Diego Garcia Island, where a US base is also located, to the UK for a hundred years, he said, "The UK is also quite far from cooperation. The UK's attitude is shocking, but we are not living in the Churchill era. They stupidly leased Diego Garcia Island for a hundred years."
