Trump signs order, 'Department of War' era begins in the US
US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order renaming the unit previously known as the 'Department of Defense' to the 'Department of War'.
US President Trump announced a new step regarding the restructuring of the Pentagon during a press conference held in the Oval Office.
Trump signed a presidential executive order stipulating that the name of the Department of Defense be changed to the "Department of War" from now on, and stated that they would submit their requests to Congress for the necessary legal arrangements to be made.
The US President remarked, "We won World War I, we won World War II. We won everything before and in between. Then we changed the name of the department to the Department of Defense. Now, we are giving it the name Department of War."
Trump also addressed Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, who was present in the room, saying, "I will call Pete Hegseth the Secretary of War."
