As Chinese President Xi Jinping's official visit to the U.S. continues into its second day, U.S. President Donald Trump shared his assessment of the meeting he held with Xi at the White House yesterday.
In a statement on his social media account, Trump said, "I had a very productive meeting with President Xi for both the U.S. and China. Very big things will happen.
He, like everyone else, seems to like the name 'super intelligence,' which is more accurate and important than the incorrectly and inadequately named 'artificial intelligence.' That would be 'super.' Everyone agreed with this last night as well," he stated.
On the other hand, U.S. Ambassador to China David Perdue stated in comments to the U.S. press that during the candid meeting between Trump and Xi, Trump clearly stated that China's assistance to Iran was unacceptable.
In a report published yesterday in the U.S.-based newspaper The Wall Street Journal prior to the meeting between Trump and Xi, it was alleged that from the beginning of this year until the end of June, China sent a large quantity of "dual-use" components that could be used in the production of missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to the Iranian Ministry of Defense. It was claimed that approximately 1,300 air shipments were made from China to Iran during the period in question.
Trump hosted a lavish dinner in honor of Xi at the White House last night, and prominent figures from the technology sector also attended the program.
