Trump's 'Bitcoin' promise

Trump made remarks regarding his policy on cryptocurrencies at the Bitcoin Conference held in Nashville.

Stating that if the US does not embrace cryptocurrency and Bitcoin technology, China will, Trump said they cannot allow China to dominate and that he does not want China to succeed.

Trump said, "I want the US to be number one in technology, science, manufacturing, artificial intelligence, and space."

Emphasizing his plan to ensure the US becomes the "crypto capital of the planet and the Bitcoin superpower of the world," Trump said, "If crypto is going to define the future, I want it to be mined, minted, and produced in the US." Trump added, "Bitcoin is going to the Moon, and I want America to be the nation that leads the way."

Pointing out that approximately 175 million people are interested in Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, Trump criticized the Joe Biden administration for its regulations regarding cryptocurrency.

Arguing that the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is "destroying Bitcoin," Trump stated, "On my first day in office, I will fire Gary Gensler and appoint a new SEC chairman."

Stating that he will appoint a Bitcoin and crypto presidential advisory council as soon as he takes office, Trump noted that the council's task will be to prepare transparent regulatory guidelines for the benefit of the entire industry and that they will complete this within 100 days.

Furthermore, Trump noted that as long as he is US president, there will never be a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC).

"NEVER SELL"

Arguing that Bitcoin is not a threat to the dollar, Trump said, "The current US government's stance is actually threatening the dollar. The danger to our financial future comes not from crypto, but from Washington DC."

Stating that Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies will rise faster than ever before, Trump also advised, "Never sell your Bitcoin."

Noting that if elected, the US will hold onto all the Bitcoin the government owns or acquires, Trump stated that this would form the core of a strategic national Bitcoin stockpile.

Trump said, "I will be the pro-innovation and pro-Bitcoin president that America needs and our citizens deserve."
