Trump's cabinet takes shape: Transportation Secretary nominee announced

Donald Trump has nominated former Congressman Sean Duffy for Secretary of Transportation.

Continuing to announce appointments for the cabinet he will form for the new term, Trump made a statement on the matter via his own social media platform, Truth Social.

In his statement, Trump said, "I am pleased to announce that former Congressman from the state of Wisconsin, Sean Duffy, is nominated to be the Secretary of Transportation."

Noting that Duffy began his career as a District Attorney in Wisconsin and was later elected to the U.S. House of Representatives for Wisconsin's 7th Congressional District, Trump highlighted the work Duffy accomplished during his time in Congress.

Trump stated, "Duffy will prioritize excellence, competence, competitiveness, and beauty when rebuilding America's highways, tunnels, bridges, and airports. He will ensure that our ports and dams serve our economy without compromising our national security, and he will make our skies safe again by eliminating 'diversity, equity, and inclusion' for pilots and air traffic controllers."

Pointing out that Duffy is the husband of Fox News star Rachel Campos-Duffy and a father of nine, Trump emphasized that Sean Duffy knows how important it is for families to be able to travel safely and with peace of mind.

Trump stated that Duffy will use his experience and the relationships he built over many years in Congress to maintain and rebuild the U.S. infrastructure and to fulfill the mission of "ushering in the golden age of travel," focusing on safety, efficiency, and innovation, and will greatly elevate the travel experience for all Americans.
