Trump's statement on attacking Iran: Sometimes you have to do it

Reiterating the US position on Iran's nuclear capacity, Trump stated that Iran's nuclear program should be at the center of a potential agreement. Trump said, "They must make a deal on nuclear weapons as part of the main agreement. We do not want Iran to have nuclear weapons. They cannot have nuclear weapons, and we are not very happy with the course of the negotiations. So we will see how it turns out."

US President Trump also stated that Iran has not met Washington's expectations in the agreement process, adding, "I am not very happy with this situation."

"Sometimes it is necessary to use military force"

Speaking about the possibility of a potential military intervention against Iran, Trump stated that despite his preference for a diplomatic solution, the use of force is not excluded, saying, "I don't want to do it, but sometimes you have to. It would be good if we could handle it without using military force, but sometimes it is necessary to use military force."

Emphasizing the capacity of the US military, Trump said, "We have the greatest military in the world. No one is even close to us. I would prefer not to use (the military), but sometimes you have to use it." Stating that a final decision on Iran has not yet been made, Trump said, "No, I have not made my final decision."

"There is a risk in everything when there is war"

When asked whether a potential military operation would lead to regime change in Iran, Trump replied, "No, no one told me anything like that. No one knows, it could or it could not." Addressing the risk of a large-scale conflict in the Middle East in the event of a military intervention, Trump said, "When there is war, there is a risk in everything, good or bad."

"We can take over Cuba in a friendly way"

In his remarks, Trump also touched upon the contacts with Cuba, saying that the Havana administration is in a serious economic crisis. Stating that the Cuban government is in contact with the US, Trump said, "The Cuban government is talking to us. They are in big trouble. They have no money, no oil, no food, and they want our help. Maybe we can take over Cuba in a friendly way."

Trump also argued that this could have positive results for the Cuban-American community living in the US.

"We have very good relations with Pakistan"

Answering a question about security developments on the Pakistan-Afghanistan line during the press conference, Trump emphasized that relations between Washington and Islamabad are strong. Regarding the Pakistani administration, Trump said, "As you know, we get along very well with Pakistan. Pakistan has a great prime minister, a great general, and a great leader. Both are people I truly respect a lot. I think Pakistan is doing a great job."

Evaluating the balances in the Middle East, Trump stated that relations with the Iraqi administration will progress positively, saying, "We will get along very well with the Iraqi leaders. I love Iraq and the Iraqi people very much."

Trump also answered a question about the files of US billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, who is accused of establishing an abuse network, by saying, "I don't know anything about the Epstein files. I am completely cleared on this matter."
