Trump's statement on Cuba: I want to help
Responding to questions from journalists at the White House, US President Donald Trump stated that Cubans living in America have asked him for help, saying, "I want to help them on a humanitarian basis."
Trump evaluated the agenda regarding Cuba to members of the press following an event at the White House.
"I WANT TO HELP THEM ON A HUMANITARIAN BASIS"
Emphasizing that they are closely interested in the issue of Cuba, Trump stated, "Cuba is a failed country. There is nothing there, no food, no electricity, no money; and we will support them. I want to help them on a humanitarian basis."
Donald Trump noted that a large number of Cuban Americans live in the US, particularly in Florida, and that these people have asked him for help, adding that they will do something regarding Cuba and that perhaps many Cubans living in the US could return to their country.
"I hope they stay here, but they want to go back and invest in their country," said Trump, noting that no president before him had addressed the issue of Cuba and that he is "happy" to be taking concrete steps on this matter.
