Trump's threat to Canada: 100 percent tariff to be imposed
In a post on his social media account, US President Donald Trump announced that a 100 percent tariff would be imposed on goods imported from Canada if it makes a deal with China.
Trump made a post on his social media account regarding the matter.
Using the term "Governor Carney" for Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, Trump stated, "If Governor Carney thinks he is going to make Canada a 'transshipment port' for China to send goods and products to the US, he is very mistaken."
Arguing that China would "eat Canada alive" and destroy its business world, social fabric, and general way of life, Trump stated that if Canada makes a deal with China, a 100 percent tariff will be immediately imposed on all Canadian goods entering the US.
