Two passenger planes collide at LaGuardia Airport in the US

Two passenger planes operated by Endeavor Air for Delta Air Lines collided while taxiing at LaGuardia Airport in New York, US. Two people were injured in the accident. 

Officials stated that the wing of flight 5155, which was taxiing to depart for Roanoke, Virginia, struck the nose of flight 5047, which had arrived from Charlotte, North Carolina, and was taxiing to the apron. Officials, who stated that there were a total of 93 people on board the aircraft during the accident, noted that the collision occurred at low speeds.

In a statement made by the Federal Aviation Administration, it was noted that the collision occurred at the intersection of taxiways M and A, and that the cause of the accident is being investigated.

The Administration noted that air traffic control had instructed flight 5155 to hold short of the intersection and give way to the other aircraft.
