UK Prime Minister Starmer: Our forces are active and our aircraft are in the air in line with defense operations

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz issued a joint statement regarding Iran. In the joint statement by the leaders of the E3 countries, which possess the largest populations and economies in Europe, it was stated: "France, Germany, and the UK have consistently called on the Iranian regime to end its nuclear program, terminate its ballistic missile program, refrain from destabilizing activities in the region and our countries, and put an end to the horrific violence and oppression against its own people."

The statement, which noted that the UK, Germany, and France were not involved in the attacks on Iran, said: "However, we are in close contact with our international partners, including the US, Israel, and partner countries in the region. We reaffirm our commitment to regional stability and the protection of civilian lives."

The statement, which did not contain any commentary on the US and Israeli attacks on Iran, said: "We condemn Iran's attacks in the region in the strongest possible terms. Iran must refrain from indiscriminate military attacks. We call for the resumption of negotiations and invite the Iranian leadership to seek a solution based on negotiations. Ultimately, the Iranian people must be allowed to determine their own future."

UK Prime Minister Starmer also released a video statement regarding Iran, saying that Iran could put an immediate end to these events. Reiterating that the UK was not involved in these attacks, Starmer said, "However, we have long made it clear that the Iranian regime is utterly abhorrent. It has killed thousands of its own people, brutally suppressed the opposition, and sought to destabilize the region."

Emphasizing that it is clear that Iran must not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons, Starmer stated: "We condemn Iran's attacks today against partners in the region. Many of these are not parties to this conflict. We offer them our support and express our solidarity with them."

Stating that they possess defense capabilities in the region, UK Prime Minister Starmer said: "In line with coordinated regional defense operations, our forces are active and our aircraft are in the air to protect our people and the interests of our country."

Stating that it is vital to prevent further escalation and return to diplomacy, Starmer said: "Iran can put an immediate end to this. It must refrain from further attacks, end its weapons programs, and stop the horrific violence and oppression against the Iranian people, who have the right to determine their own future."

Starmer stated, "This is the path to de-escalation and a return to the negotiating table."

Macron calls for an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council

French President Macron called for an emergency meeting of the United Nations (UN) Security Council following the US and Israeli strikes on Iran. Sharing a statement on social media, Macron emphasized that the escalation of tensions is dangerous for everyone and demanded an immediate end to the situation.

Stating that France has a military presence in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, and Jordan, the French leader said they would provide military support to their partners in the Middle East. In his statement, Macron said, "The outbreak of a war between the US, Israel, and Iran would have serious consequences for peace and international security."
