Ukraine attacks oil tanker belonging to Russia's 'shadow fleet'
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has carried out an attack on a Russian 'shadow fleet' oil tanker named Dashan in the Black Sea using an unmanned surface vehicle (USV). This marks the third attack by Ukraine on a Russian tanker in the last two weeks.
Ukraine continues to target Russia's 'shadow fleet' oil tankers in the Black Sea. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has carried out an attack on Russia's 'shadow fleet' oil tanker Dashan, which sails under the flag of the Comoros, using a 'Sea Baby' unmanned surface vehicle (USV). It was reported that the attack was carried out. The tanker was reportedly sailing from Ukrainian territorial waters toward the Russian port city of Novorossiysk.
Speaking to the Ukrainianpress, an unnamed sourcestated,"The tanker was sailing at full speed with its transponder turned off and sustained serious damage.In the last two weeks, the third tanker of the shadow fleet,which helps the Kremlinevade international sanctions,has been put out of commission."
The tanker is estimated to have a cost of approximately 30 million dollars and was carrying petroleumproducts worth about 60 million dollars. The tanker, which is known to belong to Russia's"shadow fleet",had previously been sanctioned by the EU, the UK, Canada, Australia, and Switzerland.had been placed on the sanctions list by.
