Ukraine issues statement on needs

Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, Latvian Prime Minister Evika Siliņa, and Polish President Andrzej Duda met in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. Following the meeting, the leaders held a joint press conference.

''15 EU AND NATO COUNTRIES HAVE ALREADY PROVIDED OVER 1.6 BILLION EUROS IN SUPPORT''

In his statement, Fiala touched upon the aid provided to Ukraine, stating, "15 EU and NATO countries have already provided over 1.6 billion euros in support. Tens of thousands of 155 mm caliber ammunition will be delivered during the month of June. Ukraine can expect the first deliveries within the coming days."

Fiala announced that since the beginning of the war, Ukraine has received 918 pieces of heavy equipment, approximately 21 million rounds of medium-caliber ammunition, and 1.7 million rounds of large-caliber ammunition.

''WE NEED AT LEAST 7 PATRIOT SYSTEMS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE''

Ukrainian Prime Minister Shmyhal, conveying that his country needs ammunition as soon as possible, said, "Another topic of today's discussions was the provision of air defense systems to secure our Ukrainian skies. We need at least seven Patriot systems and modern air combat vehicles as soon as possible."

Thanking Czech Prime Minister Fiala for organizing the program that brought Ukraine's allies together, Shmyhal added, "Our country is the shield of Europe and will continue to maintain this characteristic."

Polish President Duda stated that the war in Ukraine is at a critical juncture and that Europe must do everything in its power to ensure Ukraine can defend itself against Russia.

Duda said that his country, Poland, is ready to support the delivery of ammunition to be procured within the framework of the Czech initiative to its neighbor, Ukraine.

Dutch Prime Minister Rutte announced that his country could supply parts for Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine.
