UN Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric provided a written statement to an AA reporter regarding the matter.

Dujarric noted that he is deeply concerned by India's military operations.

Calling for maximum restraint from both countries, Dujarric stated, "The world cannot afford a military conflict between India and Pakistan."

The Indian army had reported that it launched military operations against "targets" in Pakistan and the Pakistan-administered Azad Kashmir region.

Director General of the Pakistan Army's Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) wing, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, had announced that Pakistan would respond to India's missile attacks at a time and place of its own choosing.
